Breastfeeding Nipple Shield (30mm)
The Haakaa Breastfeeding Nipple Shield is a world-first design made of 100% soft silicone, with an extended teat that puts space between your nipple and your baby’s mouth.
If your little one bites down, pulls away, or if you have inverted or cracked nipples, you will still be able to breastfeed with ease and comfort. Our Nipple Shields suction onto your breast, giving you a hands-free breastfeeding experience.
Available with a round or triangle base, the Haakaa Breastfeeding Nipple Shield allows all mums to experience the beauty of breastfeeding without the worry of discomfort and pain! The round base is larger and suctions on more easily, making it more suited for those who are new to using nipple shields. The triangle base is smaller, but allows for more skin-to-skin contact, making it more suited for those who are more experienced with using nipple shields.
We offer two teat shapes: the orthodontic teat and the nipple teat. The orthodontic teat is thumb-shaped to replicate the shape of a mother's nipple during breastfeeding, making it more readily accepted by your baby. The nipple teat replicates the silicone teat of a baby bottle and is better suited to help your baby transition from breast to bottle.
Our Orthodontic Breastfeeding Nipple Shields have an opening that's 28mm in diameter and our Bottle Breastfeeding Nipple Shields have an opening that's 23mm in diameter for your nipple.
This product is designed for mothers who are physically unable to breastfeed due to sore, cracked nipples and should only be used in the interim before returning to natural breastfeeding once your nipple has healed. If you are able to breastfeed successfully and experience slight discomfort, we suggest using our traditional nipple shields as a protective alternative if your nipples become raw and sore.”
Used as preparation for a bottle for my breastfed bub, didn’t disappoint!
Was amazing. My baby was taking it well initially as he was used to bottle feeding, but then has probably found it too hard to suck. You also have to aim it at an angle for little one to latch on properly
I couldn’t get my baby to take this shield teat. I guess cause there wasn’t any nipple within the teat. I think that it’s a great idea to have the space away from the actual nipple, I just couldn’t get my boy to latch on. I hope it works for others. The silicon shields worked better for me.
Hi Lovely Thank you for your feedback and review. A tip we have for latching on would be to express some milk first into the shield and then attach baby on so that they know there is breastmilk in there. If you need any further help please contact us at email@example.com
The shield arrived quickly however there are no instructions in the box so I’ve got no idea if I’m positioning it correctly and my little one is being stubborn and won’t latch to it, so I can’t really comment on how good it is yet. I’ve sent a message to Haakaa asking for instructions but still no response.
Hi Lovely, Thank you for your feedback and review. We are incredibly sorry for no instructions being in the box. Please see the instructions below and reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions:
